Is there anyone out there who wants to help organize a daily blog (which hopefully can grow into a full-fledged news and publishing site related to Civil liberties and anti-authoritarian topics.)?

We're looking for a few serious regular contributor writers, bloggers, researchers who want to make QA a must-read source .

The one day post is actually pretty impressive if it can be sustained. I'll try to add a few cents later. I wonder... once we have the sense --- or if we already DO have the sense -- that a few of us will do this regularly, do we want to get a more memorable address.... like say donttasemebro.com, It seems to be available.. I've also previously noted that QuestionAuthority.net is available for $488. Maybe we should fire up a fundraiser?

More soon...

Flabbergasting that donttasemebro.com is still available...

If we decide on that at a later date, it's easy to make the same stuff show up in both places, in case that worried you.

I'd say grab it- I could toss in a few fed reserve notes to help out with the first year-

BTW - WOW! you guys are out of the box with lot's o' good stuff! I'll try to start getting some stuff in to the pipeline over the weekend. Well done fellas!

False alarm -- seems to have been registered on September 18, 2007. I'll bet that's like the same day that happened. dont-tase-me-bro.com was registered on September 19.

Although donttasemebro.eu is available. Not very memorable for non-Euro people, though.

How about donttasemeblog.com? That's still open.

Feral -- I think Phil had, like, three thousand posts in his head and waiting for a venue. By my calculations, he should be able to keep his current pace up for about 15.8 years.
shoot, i'd really like to participate, but my account is disabled. am i bothering y'all? i did not know it was possible to be too uncool for politics...

Phil? RU? As soon as I get a userid for Uncle Osbert, can I assume a go for activation as a blog author?

No problem with me.

Don't know what you mean about account, but we could definitely use somebody who's motivated to participate. The one big editorial guideline is that the blog has to stay focused very tightly on news and events related to civil liberties (i.e. not just generalized editorializing or rants or non-topic related posts etc.). So whatever you've got that fits that bill we'd love to run.

I'm not a movable type person so the account I'm using is not often accessed. My password was refused and the message said to contact my administrator. I didn't think really think it was you guys, but on the off chance you had that capacity I wasn't going to keep pinging you ;)

Thanks. I'll go ahead and begin a new account and message you as instructed. I appreciate your patience.

Alright, I've got everything working. I have a question on content... Are we limiting ourselves to only American stories? Or, if we find stories relevant to civil liberties specific to the war on terror would that be considered on point? Found an Australian story about a lawyer taking on the government to actually get a terror suspect released free and clear. Thought it might be a nice change of pace to see that there are some wins as well as losses.

As far as I'm concerned, liberty is an issue that transcends mere nationality. The Declaration doesn't say "all men in part of one continent," it talks about universal rights for humanity.

I have your account enabled. Go fer it.

Nice contributions Osbert... (& everyone). My view is that anyplace we have members, we should cover the stories. I would point out, though, if we covered every authoritarian absurdity that took place everywhere in the world -- like say Saudi Arabia, Vietnam, North Korea, it would get really messy. So as a sort-of workable rule-of-thumb, I think wherever we have members...
